Magic Walk Monday 22nd April - What did I enjoy about it?

The starting point is delightful. Dando Compton Village Hall is set in a beautiful hamlet in the fold of a hill. A stream runs along the front; and the back overlooks fields in which there were sheep and lambs. It is right next door to “The Compton Arms”, a pub which serves reasonably priced food.

The walk took us past the church, through fields filled with horses and foals. Ruth paused from time to time to engage with the energy that was all around us. She greeted a tree: it responded and sent ants and other insects to greet us.

Before we entered the woods, filled with native bluebells and wild garlic, she invited us to receive a healing touch. When she gently touched my chin, I received a rush of energetic information. The information was the sea and the saltiness of a sea breeze. I gasped and was invited to sit for 15 minutes in the woods. I chose a spot on a mossy log and from there I could hear a chiffchaff singing. When he stopped, it was time for me to move on. This strong sense of the sea lingered. I used to pick job locations based on how near they were to the sea. So, my first professional job was in Southampton, the next in Ipswich. Then I was offered a job with seniority and variety in Nottingham, which I accepted. I had nightmares about how far away from the sea it was. And the first day I arrived in the city, I took a train to the seaside. Thank you for awakening that memory.

We returned to the hall for more gentle clearings to do with Earth Day. We swapped Bars and Body Processes, and finished with us sitting in a circle to honour the Earth. Ruth had a beautiful guided meditation on the Earth for us to listen to.
